Deputy Prime Minister and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chairman Kamal Thapa has opined that it would be relevant for bereaved CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal to apologize to the families of people killed during the Maoist insurgency.
"The pain of loss of son/daughter is unbearable and can't be described in words. Everybody has sympathy on the loss suffered by Prachanda (sic) family on Prakash's death. It would perhaps be relevant for Prachanda to apologize to those who lost their kids or spouses in course of the People's War (sic) if it were not taken otherwise at this time of sorrow," Thapa, who was home minister under the direct rule of the then king Gyanendra at the time of Janaandolan II in 2006 when almost 20 unarmed protestors were killed by the administration, tweeted Friday morning.
Former prime minister Dahal's only son Prakash had died on Sunday.
Dahal had called the death of son the greatest sorrow in life while addressing the condolence meeting organized at his residence in Lazimpat on Thursday. Almost 17,000 persons including commoners, security personnel and Maoist cadres were killed during the decade long Maoist insurgency.
