Former prime minister and outgoing president of the Nepali Congress, Sher Bahadur Deuba, has returned to the country.
Deuba returned home on Thursday after five months. He arrived at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu a short while ago.
Leaders from the non-establishment faction of the Nepali Congress, including Bimalendra Nidhi, Krishna Prasad Sitaula, Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, and Jit Jung Basnet, welcomed Deuba at the airport upon his arrival.
Deuba had been in Singapore and Hong Kong for medical treatment since February. He returned to Nepal from Hong Kong via Thailand on Thursday afternoon.
Leaders reported that Deuba was welcomed with traditional musical instruments and fanfare.
