The Nepali Congress parliamentary party in Bagmati province has issued a whip directing its lawmakers not to vote in favor of Chief Minister Kiran Thapa Magar.
The party has instructed its provincial assembly members to vote against the confidence motion that Chief Minister Thapa Magar is scheduled to present in the provincial assembly on Monday.
The whip, issued by Pukar Maharjan, chief whip of the Nepali Congress parliamentary party in the Bagmati Provincial Assembly, directs lawmakers to be present at the assembly meeting, not remain neutral, and vote against the confidence motion to be presented by Chief Minister Thapa Magar.
The Nepali Congress issued the whip as Chief Minister Thapa Magar is scheduled to seek a vote of confidence in the provincial assembly under Article 168(4) of the Constitution of Nepal and Rule 143 of the Bagmati Provincial Assembly Regulations, 2017.
