The police have arrested as many as 353 persons for their alleged involvement in anti-election activities.
According to Nepal Police Spokesperson Manoj Neupane, at least 353 people across the country have been arrested for their alleged involvement in anti-election activities.
"Most of the arrestees are the cadres of Netra Bikram Chand-led Communist Party of Nepal," DIG Neupane said, "We've adopted a high-level security system keeping the elections in mind."
Kaski Police has held as many as 93 people for their alleged involvement in anti-election activities.
The police suspect that Chand's cadres might have been involved in bomb attacks targeting election candidates.
Some leaders contesting the elections including Janardan Sharma and UML leader and former minister Sherdhan Rai, among others have come under bomb attacks.
Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on Monday met with security chiefs at the Ministry of Home Affairs and directed them to arrest those involved in the anti-election activities. He also instructed to arrest cadres and leaders of Chand-led CPN .
