Dhawal Shumsher Rana, who left the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), and Durga Prasai, who dissolved his Rastra, Rastriyata, Dharma, Sanskriti Tatha Nagarik Bachau Maha Abhiyan, had announced plans to form a new party together, but the official declaration has been delayed.
While the two had previously cited the Malamas (an extra month in the Hindu lunar calendar considered inappropriate for auspicious occasions) as the reason for the delay, they have yet to form the party even long after that period concluded.
When asked about the current status of the party's formation, Rana indicated that preparations are in the final stages and the announcement will be made shortly.
"We are giving final touches to the party's statute, and we are still in discussions regarding the party’s name and election symbol," he told Setopati. "It is not yet time to reveal what the party’s name and election symbol will be."
Rana, who was the general secretary of the RPP, had quit the party, resigning even from his general membership, to launch a campaign to build a new party. He is supported by Prasai and some 186 former RPP leaders from various levels.
Ahead of the new party’s formation, they have already assigned various departmental responsibilities to leaders.
