At Monday’s provincial assembly meeting, 45 lawmakers voted in favor of the confidence motion tabled by Chief Minister Acharya, while 26 voted against it.
Acharya received the confidence vote with the support of the CPN-UML, Nepali Communist Party (NCP), Rastriya Jana Morcha, and Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal.
Of the 83 lawmakers currently in the provincial assembly, 71 participated in the voting process.
Since the 45 votes in favor constituted a majority, Speaker Tularam Gharti Magar announced that Chief Minister Acharya had secured the vote of confidence.
Eight lawmakers were absent from the provincial assembly meeting.
According to the attendance record, lawmakers Anurag Khadka, Ambika Kafle, Ashish Kumar Chaudhary, Khadga Basnet, Dhan Laxmi Shrestha, Nirmala Devi Tharu, Maya Pun, and Saroj Thapa did not attend the meeting.
