Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal is set to leave for India on Friday.
Khanal will travel to New Delhi for a three-day India visit at the invitation of Indian External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.
During the visit, Khanal is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with Jaishankar.
The discussions are expected to cover a wide range of issues, including trade, investment, expansion of connectivity between the two countries, and energy.
Khanal’s visit is being viewed as significant, following immediately after the visit to India by Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane.
The foreign minister had originally planned to visit India last month to attend a tiger conservation conference. Bilateral talks were also expected on that occasion, but the conference was postponed at the last minute.
Khanal and Jaishankar previously held talks in Mauritius.
Khanal is scheduled to return to Nepal on June 7.
