Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane has said that he agrees with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of moving toward a new era of development diplomacy.
Lamichhane made such remarks after meeting Modi in New Delhi on Wednesday.
Modi earlier shared photographs of the meeting between the two sides on the social media platform X.
Sharing Modi's post, Lamichhane wrote: “It was indeed a great delight to engage in such a productive hour-long conversation with Hon. PM Narendra Modi today. I share your vision for a future where Nepal and India transcend past constraints to embrace a new era of development diplomacy.”
“By focusing on shared civilizational bonds, digital corridors, and seamless connectivity, we can truly build a partnership defined by progress and mutual trust,” he further wrote. “RSP looks forward to translating these possibilities into reality for people of Nepal and India - for our shared prosperity.”
Regarding the meeting, Modi also wrote on X that Nepal remains a priority partner under India's Neighborhood First policy.
“Nepal is a priority partner under our Neighborhood First policy and we look forward to collaborating with the new government to elevate the special and multifaceted relationship between our two countries to greater heights,” Modi wrote.
Lamichhane, who is on a five-day visit to India, earlier held meetings with Indian Home Minister Amit Shah and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar.
During his visit, Lamichhane also met with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Nitin Nabin and visited the BJP headquarters.
