The government has formed a committee to study the technical aspects related to the border issue between Bajura and Humla districts and submit a report.
The committee has been formed under the coordination of Sushil Dangol, deputy director general of the Department of Survey.
A meeting held on Sunday at Singha Durbar, chaired by Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives, Federal Affairs, and General Administration Pratibha Rawal, made the decision to form the committee.
The committee will include one representative each from the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers; the Ministry of Home Affairs; the Ministry of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs; the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, Federal Affairs, and General Administration; as well as the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers of both Karnali province and Sudur Paschim province.
Likewise, a director from the Department of Survey has been assigned the responsibility of member secretary of the committee.
The meeting was attended by Madan Bhujel, secretary at the Ministry of Land Management; Dipa Dahal, press and research expert to Prime Minister Balendra Shah; Ananda Kafle, joint secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs; Prakash Dahal, joint secretary at the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, Federal Affairs, and General Administration; Prakash Joshi, director general of the Department of Survey; Bhim Budha, under secretary at the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, Federal Affairs, and General Administration; Dayananda Joshi, director at the Department of Survey; and Survey Officer Jyoti Dhakal.
The decision to form the committee was reached following intensive discussions on the matter during the meeting.
