Nepali Congress Vice-president Bishwa Prakash Sharma has said that public trust is growing in a "transformed Congress" that aligns with citizens' aspirations.
Welcoming central members and proportional representation candidates from the Janata Samajwadi Party into the fold, Sharma claimed that the nationwide momentum is increasingly shifting in favor of his party.
Sharma asserted that as the House of Representatives election draws near, the wave of support for the party is enthusiastic.
He claimed that under current conditions, the Nepali Congress is set to emerge as the largest party, and that if the current momentum continues, it will reach a position to secure a majority within a week.
“If citizens are looking for something new, then after the Gen Z movement, the Congress has become new. If they seek change, then it is the Congress that has changed,” he said.
Claiming that the number of people joining the party is increasing daily, Sharma stated that the Congress has become stronger than before. He added that the Congress has transformed itself and is now moving forward to transform society and the country.
"If someone cannot change themselves but say that they will change the country, we will listen to them as well," he remarked. "However, based on the belief that only those who can change themselves can change the country, the Nepali Congress has moved forward in a way that wins the people's trust. Thousands are joining the party every day."
Sharma, who began his political outreach from Chitwan and traveled through western districts before returning to Kathmandu, said that leaders and party workers are united in strengthening the party’s grassroots base rather than relying on rumors.
According to Sharma, the transformed Congress – following its special general convention – has been proving its excellence.
The party is set to unveil its commitment paper (manifesto) in Janakpurdham on Wednesday.
