The inquiry commission investigating the incidents of September 8 and 9 has lifted the travel and movement restrictions imposed on then-home minister Ramesh Lekhak.
On Thursday, the commission’s secretariat informed Lekhak through the Ministry of Home Affairs that the restrictions on his travel and movement had been lifted.
A meeting of the commission held on September 28 had decided to bar Lekhak from foreign travel and restrict him from leaving the Kathmandu Valley without the commission’s approval.
The commission recorded Lekhak’s statement on Monday and Wednesday. After the completion of his statement, the commission lifted the restrictions.
The commission is now preparing to record a statement from then-prime minister KP Sharma Oli. It is preparing to send him an official letter summoning him for a statement.
