The inquiry commission formed to investigate the incidents of September 8 and 9 has lifted the travel and movement restrictions imposed on three high-ranking officials, including a former home secretary.
The commission decided on Monday to lift the restrictions on former home secretary Gokarna Mani Duwadi, former inspector general of police (IGP) Chandra Kuber Khapung, and former chief district officer (CDO) of Kathmandu Chhabilal Rijal.
On November 13, the commission had decided to bar the three from traveling abroad and restricted them from leaving the Kathmandu Valley without its prior approval.
The commission lifted these restrictions after completing the process of recording their statements.
It is now preparing to record a statement from former home minister Ramesh Lekhak. It has issued a letter to Lekhak, asking him to appear before the commission on Friday to record his statement.
The commission plans to summon former prime minister KP Sharma Oli for questioning after that.
