The Election Commission has decided to allow those who complete 18 years of age by March 4, 2026, to vote in the upcoming general election.
At a meeting held on Monday, the commission decided to set March 4 as the cut-off date for completing 18 years of age.
The commission had given time until November 21 for registering names in the voters list. Among those who registered within that period, anyone who completes 18 years by March 4 will be eligible to vote. Those who complete 18 years after that date will not be allowed to vote this time.
The commission has posted on its website the details of voters collected under the voters list update program.
Until December 12, individuals can apply to correct errors in the voter list, file complaints if anyone has registered with false information, and request to keep their name at only one location if it appears in multiple places, according to the commission.
