CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has reiterated that there will be no discussion on the party’s policies during the upcoming 11th general convention.
Oli’s statement comes at a time when leaders including Senior Vice-chairman Ishwar Pokharel have been emphasizing the need for an objective review of events including the changes after September 8 and 9.
“Just three months ago, we held a statute convention and discussed the party’s policies. We reviewed everything – our history, our work, our achievements, our weaknesses. We have already passed our political proposal, political report, and discussed the state and condition of our organization. There is no need to make changes to organizational policies at this time. The convention has just done that,” Oli said on Sunday while unveiling the party’s new logo.
Oli said that there is no need to make any changes in the political report.
“Because the convention has just done that. There is no need for major changes in the statute. If minor adjustments are needed, the convention will make them through a short procedure, which will not involve lengthy discussions. We can conclude them through a short procedure. The general convention will need to select leadership to advance those organizational structures and policies. That is what it will do,” he added. “There is no point, nor any need, to express disagreement on this.”
