The Nepali Congress has scheduled municipal ward conventions under its 15th general convention for September 19 and 20.
The party’s central election committee published the revised schedule on Tuesday. The ward conventions had previously been scheduled for September 9.
The party said that the ward conventions were postponed due to the flood and the need to reach consensus within the party.
For the flood-affected districts of Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and Dhading, the committee has decided that the conventions will be held in coordination between the designated election officers and the respective local party units.
The Nepali Congress said that the conventions of its overseas public liaison committees in the remaining countries will be completed by September 26. According to the party, the schedules for the district and provincial conventions will be published in the second phase.

1. Ward conventions
September 19 and September 20 (To be held according to local convenience)
Conventions will be held in all 6,743 wards, with elections for ward committees and selection of regional representatives.
