CPN (Maoist Center) leader Janardan Sharma has left the party.
Organizing a press conference on Tuesday, Sharma announced a campaign named Pragatisheel Abhiyan Nepal (Progressive Campaign Nepal).
Ram Karki and Anjana Bisankhe are also part of the campaign announced by Sharma. Both leaders participated in Tuesday's press conference.
Sharma and other leaders stated that they aim to fulfill the remaining responsibilities of the Maoist movement and reorganize the left movement in a new way.
Leaders dissatisfied with the CPN (Unified Socialist), including Jhala Nath Khanal and Ghanashyam Bhusal, are also in dialogue with leaders including Sharma and Karki.
Sharma accused Coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal of surrendering to the policies of Madhav Kumar Nepal.
During the press conference, Sharma said that he and some other leaders have rejected this move and will conduct a progressive campaign, including party reorganization.
"Chairman Prachanda (Dahal) abandoned the Maoist party and surrendered to the policies of Madhav Kumar Nepal Ji. He went there. We did not accept that, and we have resolved to conduct a progressive campaign, including reorganization, in a new way," he said.
He also said that they are determined to not let the sacrifices of the martyrs go in vain and to take responsibility for fulfilling them.
"There was an organizing committee of the Maoist Center. The general convention organizing committee has overstepped its authority by staging this drama of unification; it does not fall within its jurisdiction," he said. "The organizing committee cannot do that at all. The task of the general convention organizing committee is to hold the general convention. Instead of working to hold the general convention, they are doing various things to avoid the convention, not allow establishment of rules and system within the party, and preventing leadership from being established through competition. The kind of unification happening today, driven by the objective of centering their own interest group, will provide no way out, nor will it gain public support."
He said that internal turmoil has started within the unified party from Tuesday itself.
"A central committee of thousands is being formed. A secretariat of hundreds is being formed. It will have no meaning. It will establish organizational anarchy and lawlessness," he said.
