The Nepali Army has issued a warning to stop anarchy.
Issuing a statement Tuesday night, it has said that the Nepal Army and other security agencies will take control of the situation.
"The Nepali Army once again urges that such activities not be carried out as some groups are taking undue advantage of the adverse situation and causing excessive damage to ordinary citizens and public property, engaging in looting and arson," the statement warned pointing that various groups are taking advantage of the current circumstances.
It also warned that if these activities do not stop, all security agencies will take control of the situation after 10 pm. "We would like to inform you that if such activities are not stopped, all security agencies, including the Nepali Army, will be firm in their commitment to controlling the situation from 10 pm to fulfill their primary responsibility of protecting Nepal and its people," the statement issued in the name of Nepal Army Spokesperson Brigadier General Rajaram Basnet added.
The Nepal Army has also given a deadline to return the weapons that were looted from the security agencies. "We have asked them to return the weapons by 10 pm.," Basnet said.
Chief of the Army Staff Ashok Raj Sigdel also addressed the nation earlier Tuesday evening and requested the Gen-Z protestors to come to the negotiation table.
