CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that he is currently not in favor of changing the government.
Speaking to journalists after participating in a discussion on the policies and programs in the House of Representatives on Monday, Dahal clarified that he is not focused on government change at the moment.
"Our focus is not on forming a government right now. Our focus is on connecting with the people. As you already know, we are now launching the Mid-Hill Highway Campaign," he said. "If we wanted to work magic, we could, but we are not in favor of doing so at the moment."
Dahal also said that he is not in favor of persuading Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba. He claimed that the current government would collapse under its own weight.
Dahal said that the government's policies and programs for the upcoming fiscal year were merely a formality and lacked substance.
“As you have seen, I expressed my views based on the extensive dialogues we held with people from east to west and the public sentiment we gauged. The policies and programs are just a formality, lacking substance, which is why I presented my thoughts, my feelings, and people’s needs,” he said.
When journalists questioned him about some policies being mere copy-paste from previous years, Dahal said, "Even copying and pasting is just a formality. A lot of development has taken place over the past year, but there is nothing new, creative, or constructive for the people or in the interest of the nation."
