All-party meeting concludes with 10 decisions on flood response

Kathmandu, Aug 27

An all-party meeting convened by Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane at Singha Durbar on Thursday concluded after adopting 10 decisions.

The meeting decided to urge party leaders and workers to serve as humanitarian volunteers in rescue operations.

The parties also agreed to implement a one-door system for collecting financial assistance. Other decisions included taking initiatives for the scientific study of glacial lakes and recommending that the government develop an improved disaster early-warning system.

The meeting decided to prioritize the rescue, relief, and management of flood victims. It also called for the launch of a national reconstruction campaign and an appeal to international organizations for assistance, among other decisions.
