The Kathmandu District Court has extended the custody of 24 individuals arrested in connection with the Tinkune incident by seven days.
A bench of Judge Ishwari Prasad Bhandari granted permission to keep those arrested on charges of crimes against the state and organized crime in custody for seven more days.
Superintendent of Police Apil Raj Bohara at the District Police Range, Kathmandu, said that they have been granted seven more days to investigate the 24 individuals.
Police opened an investigation against the 24 individuals on charges of crimes against the state and organized crime, alleging that Durga Prasain and others incited the protest and turned it violent. The 24 individuals are in custody at the District Police Range, Kathmandu.
Police are investigating others for criminal mischief.
Prasai and Mishra have filed a petition at the court demanding that they be released on personal guarantee. The previous bench had noted that if the process of collecting statements and evidence was complete, they could be released on personal guarantee.
On Sunday, both Prasai and Mishra presented their statements in court.
