The Armed Police Force (APF) has fired 15 rounds at the border in Narayanpur of Parsa rural municipality in Sarlahi following a clash with Indian nationals.
The Indian media has claimed that one Indian national has been killed. Indian news agency ANI citing IG of Bihar sector of the Seema Suraksha Bal (SSB) Sanjay Kumar has claimed that one Dinesh Kumar, 25, has been killed.
The APF and District Administration Office, Sarlahi have said they have no official information about the death.
"We have yet to receive any information about death," APF Spokesperson DIG Pravin Kumar Shrestha told Setopati. "The injured persons were taken to the Indian side for treatment. We will get details later."
Chief District Officer (CDO) of Sarlahi Mohan Bahadur GC also said there are reports that one person was seriously injured during the clash but no official information about the death.
The Indian Embassy in Kathmandu also expressed ignorance about the death. "We have yet to receive information," Indian Embassy Spokesperson Abhishek Dubey told Setopati when asked about the death.
The APF claims that a few Indian nationals snatched the weapons when APF personnel tried to stop a few Indians trying to enter Nepal Friday morning. SP of APF in Sarlahi Ganga Ram Shrestha said the APF first fired 10 aerial shots to take back the snatched weapons.
"The APF fired five shots directed at them as they didn't return the weapons even after that," he stated. "We were told that three persons have been injured and one critically injured. A few APF personnel have also been injured due to their beating."
The APF has arrested one Indian national for manhandling its personnel.
