CPN Spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha has called keeping Nepalis who have arrived at the border points under the open sky inhumane.
He has said keeping them in fields without any roof above them is very inhumane, irresponsible and sad. He has pointed that one does not need any instruction to keep the stranded Nepalis in quarantine.
"The news of keeping Nepalis who have already entered Nepal stranded in open fields at the border if true is extremely inhumane, irresponsible and sad. One does not need anyone's order to keep them in quarantine. Let's keep them in special quarantine," he has tweeted on Thursday.
"That it is not possible in practice to bring hundreds of thousand Nepalis staying abroad in the current context does not mean keeping those who have already entered the country at the border under the open sky. Who has said or explained that this thing that one cannot even hear of is the policy of federal government? This can't be."
Over 700 Nepalis are stranded in Dharchula, India across the Mahakali river from Darchula. They have not been allowed to come to Nepal as the borders are shut after the lockdown. Three of them had swam across the Mahakali to Nepal but they were detained.
