Myanmar's first lady Cho Cho Friday visited the Patan Durbar Square.
Ms Cho, who reached there at 11 am, had spent around an hour. Radhika Shakya, spouse of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Lalitpur Metropolis mayor Chiri Babu Maharjan, deputy major Geeta Satyal, other local representatives and locals welcomed her on the occasion.
During her stay at the site that remains in the UNESCO world heritage sites list, Cho visited the Keshav Narayan Chowk, Mul Chowk and Sundari Chowk, according to Patan Monument and Durbar Protection Office chief Kajiman Pyakurel. The site reflects the high Newari architecture dating back to the Malla regime.
She walked through the Patan museum to Hiranyabarna Mahabihar (a Buddhist temple) and inquired about heritages of cultural and religious importance there. She was majorly curious about a cultural procession, locally known Jhanki, presented to her honor on the occasion. Likewise, she performed a pooja at the Hiranyabarna Mahabihar.
Cho, spouse of Myanmar's President Win Myint, arrived here to participate in the fourth BIMSTEC (Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi Sectoral Technical and Education Cooperation) Summit that concluded in Kathmandu today.
