The police have found out-of-contact elder brother of Krishna Prasad Adhikari of Phujel, Gorkha who was murdered by the then Maoist rebels.
The Metropolitan Police Crime Division took Noor Prasad, who was not in contact with the family for the past four years, under control on Sunday on request of his mother Ganga Maya.
"We found Noor Prasad in a small rented room in Sanepa," SSP at the Metropolitan Police Crime Division Dhiraj Pratap Singh told Setopati. "His search was possible through facilitation of police after his mother's request."
He was taken under control by the police at 11 Sunday morning.
The National Human Rights Commission was also looking for him.
"Noor Prasad is currently at the division. We will produce him before his mother," SSP Singh added.
Ganga Maya is currently undergoing treatment at the Bir Hospital after breaking her fast-unto-death on July 13 following an agreement with the government after the main accused in the murder, Chhabi Lal Paudel, surrendered before the Supreme Court due to the pressure created by her fast.
Chitwan District Court earlier had ordered Paudel be released on bail. The then Patan Appellate Court had upheld the verdict.
But the Adhikari family then moved the SC and the joint bench of Justices Girish Chandra Lal and Deepak Raj Joshi in January 2015 ordered that Paudel be kept in custody for investigation of the case.
Paudel surrendered to the SC for implementation of that order.
Krishna Prasad's father Nanda Prasad Adhikari died on September 22, 2014 during fast-unto-death demanding justice. Nanda Prasad's body remains unclaimed at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital as Ganga Maya was herself fasting while Noor Prasad was out of contact.
Krishna Prasad Adhikari, then a teenager from Phujel-7 of Gorkha district with no involvement in politics, was allegedly killed by the then rebel Maoist cadres including Paudel in Chitwan on June 6, 2004.
