The government has decided to provide Rs 1 million to the family of temporary policeman Binod Chaudhary killed in the bomb blast in Tuslipur, Dang on Tuesday while deployed on duty.
Home Secretary Mohan Krishna Sapkota told Setopati that a meeting of the central security committee in Baluwatar chaired by Prime Minister and Home Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba. Chief Secretary Lok Darshan Regmi, Home Secretary Sapkota, Lt General of Nepal Army Purna Chandra Thapa, IGP of Nepal Police Prakash Aryal and Armed Police Force (IGP) Singha Bahadur Shrestha were also present in the meeting.
The meeting has also decided to take stringent action in accordance to the law to crush criminal activities and explosions that aim to disrupt the upcoming election and security. It also decided for making adequate arrangements for treatment of those injured in such incidents, according to Home Secretary Sapkota.
Chaudhary, 23, of Tulsipur-3 breathed his last at Kohalpur Medical College in Banke at around 2:30 Wednesday morning while undergoing treatment after being injured in the bomb blast Tuesday afternoon in a busy road just 150 meters away from Arniko Ground where PM Deuba had reached minutes earlier to address the election program.
