A total of 121 foreign nationals have been rescued from flood-affected areas in Rasuwa.
According to the Nepal Tourism Board, 121 foreign nationals had been rescued as of 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
Indian nationals accounted for the largest number of those rescued.
The rescued foreigners include 85 Indian nationals, 16 Chinese nationals, nine South Korean nationals, two Americans, two Russians, and two Italians.
One national each from Bulgaria and Switzerland has also been rescued.
The board said that three other foreign nationals were among those rescued, but their countries of origin had not yet been established.
The board said that the safety of foreign nationals remains its top priority.
Four employees rescued from Rasuwagadhi Hydropower Plant
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation said that four employees trapped inside the Rasuwagadhi Hydropower Plant have been rescued safely.
The rescued employees are Bhakta Bahadur Majhi, Bal Bahadur Majhi, Rajan BK, and Sunil Majhi.
Despite adverse weather conditions, the rescue team safely brought the employees trapped inside the plant to safety.
However, those trapped at the Trishuli-3B Hydropower Project have not yet been rescued.
Although adverse weather has caused some delays in the rescue operation, rescue efforts in the affected areas are continuing on a high-priority basis.
Meanwhile, a dedicated helicopter carrying necessary equipment has been deployed to rescue people trapped at the flood-affected Upper Trishuli-3A Hydropower Project.
A rescue team equipped with the necessary gear has also been deployed to the project site to make the rescue of people inside a tunnel more effective.
Excavation begins to rescue workers trapped at Trishuli-3A Hydropower Project
Excavation has begun to reopen the blocked cable tunnel in an effort to rescue workers and employees trapped at the Trishuli-3A Hydropower Project.
The Ministry of Energy said that work has begun to clear the buried entrance of the cable tunnel leading to the underground powerhouse of the 60-megawatt hydropower project, where employees became trapped during maintenance work.
The ministry said that excavation work is being carried out at high speed using the necessary equipment, with the support of the Nepal Army and skilled personnel.
