Polling in the second phase of federal and provincial assembly elections is being peacefully conducted in 45 districts from seven Thursday morning.
Top leaders of the main political parties have cast their votes from their respective areas while some are in the process to exercise their franchise in the election.
CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman and left alliance candidate for federal parliament from Chitwan-3 Pushpa Kamal Dahal cast vote from Shanti Secondary-based polling station. Dahal's wife Sita, his daughters Ganga and Renu Dahal voted from Sundarbasti Lower Secondary School-based polling station in the Bharatpur metropolis.
Senior Nepali Congress (NC) leader Ram Chandra Paudel, who is contesting for federal parliament from Tanahu-1, also cast vote from Satyavati polling center in Damauli, Tanahu.

Other senior leaders including Former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, UML leaders Jhalanath Khanal, Subas Chandra Nembang cast their votes from their respective polling stations. NC General Secretary Shashanka Koirala cast his vote from Valley School Center of Kathmandu metropolis-3. UML General Secretary Ishowr Pokharel and UML vice-president Bhim Rawal also exercise their franchise.

Meanwhile, NC leader Bimalendra Nidhi will cast his vote from Rameshowr Secondary School-based polling station of Dhanusha. NC leaders Prakash Man Singh and Nabindra Raj Joshi cast their votes from Nepal Yubak Secondary School-based polling station in Pakanajol and Dhakatol-based polling station of Kathmandu metropolis respectively.

NC leader Shekhar Koirala cast his vote from Adarsha School-based polling center of Biratnagar metropolis. NC leaders Gagan Kumar Thapa and Bijay Gachchhadar also cast their votes.

Rabindra Mishra of Bibeksheel Sajha Party, Chairman of Rastriya Prajatantra Party Kamal Thapa, Chairman of Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal Upendra Yadav have also cast their votes.

A total of 32 mountainous and hilly districts had already gone for voting on November 26. The ballot boxes of the first phase election have been collected at the respective district headquarters and kept under three-tier security for 11 days. Counting will start together across the country after voting in the second phase concludes later in the day.
