Parties are busy doing final election rallies and door-to-door campaign across the country with election silence for the second round of elections scheduled for December 7 starting from Monday midnight.
A total of 45 districts with 128 federal and 256 provincial constituencies will go for voting on Thursday after 32 districts went for voting on November 26.
All the top leaders have reached their respective constituencies. Prime Minister and Nepal Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba is in far west. He is contesting from Dadeldhura while his wife Arzoo Rana Deuba is contesting from Kailali-5.
CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal is busy in his constituency Chitwan-3 for the past few days.
CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli, who is breathing a lot easier after alliance with RPP in his constituency, will however not go to Jhapa to round up the campaign. He will address the election rally of UML General Secretary Ishwor Pokharel in Kathmandu-5 Monday afternoon and then address another rally in Bhaktapur. He will go to Jhapa on Tuesday before returning to Bhaktapur to vote.
The election silence will start from Monday midnight, according to the Election Commission (EC). The candidates and parties cannot solicit votes through any medium once the election silence starts.
The EC can slap a fine of up to Rs 100,000 and even revoke candidacy of the candidates found canvassing during the period.
