Nepali Communist Party lawmaker Rama Ale Magar has been appointed as a minister in the Bagmati provincial government.
Ale Magar has been given responsibility for the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Forests, and Environment.
Following her appointment, she took the oath of office and secrecy on Friday.
Ale Magar was given the ministry in accordance with the demand from the Nepali Communist Party.
Earlier, Saral Sahayatri Paudel had been appointed minister for economic affairs and planning. There is a power-sharing arrangement among the CPN-UML, the Nepali Communist Party, and the Rastriya Prajatantra Party in the Bagmati provincial government led by Kiran Thapa Magar of the CPN-UML.
Ale Magar previously served as minister for youth and sports in the Bagmati provincial government led by Shalikram Jamkattel.
