The government has formed a task force to resolve the long-standing dispute and issues surrounding the construction of a cable car project at the historic and religious site of Mukkumlung Pathibhara in Taplejung.
According to Prime Minister Balendra Shah’s Press and Investigation Expert Dipa Dahal, a seven-member task force has been formed following a decision at the secretary level of the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers on Thursday. The task force is coordinated by Bishwa Rai, the prime minister's social development expert.
The task force has been given 15 days to identify the long-standing disputes and problems related to the construction of the cable car to the Pathibhara Temple and submit recommendations for their resolution.
The seven-member task force, which includes representatives from all stakeholders, comprises coordinator Rai, a senior divisional engineer from the Ministry of Infrastructure Development, a representative from the group opposing the cable car construction, and a representative from the Pathibhara Area Development Committee.
Additionally, a representative from the cable car construction company, an under-secretary from the Ministry of Home Affairs, and a personal joint secretary from the prime minister’s secretariat are also members of the task force.
