The government has decided that the 114 ropani and 3 ana of land located in Maharajgunj, Kathmandu, will remain under the ownership of the National Police Academy.
During a Cabinet meeting held on Thursday at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar, the government overturned a previous decision to transfer the land to the Office of the President.
"As per the decision made on August 17, 2018, the entire 114 ropani and 3 ana land of the National Police Academy in Maharajgunj was to be held under the Office of the President. It has been decided that the land will remain under the National Police Academy as before," said government spokesperson Sasmit Pokharel while announcing the Cabinet's decisions.
Additionally, the Cabinet decided to form a task force, coordinated by the information and communication technology advisor, to review the software and IT systems currently used within government agencies.
Pokharel further said that the government has formed a talks team, led by a joint secretary from the Ministry of Finance, to finalize the agreement and related documents for a USD 115 million concessional loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for water and sewage management.
