UML pledges Rs 12 million aid for Bhotekoshi-Trishuli flood victims

CPN-UML Chairman and former prime minister KP Sharma Oli has announced that the party will provide at least Rs 12 million to support the rescue, relief, and rehabilitation of people affected by floods, landslides, and inundation in Rasuwa.

Speaking at an event held at the party’s central office in Chyasal, Lalitpur, on Monday, Oli said that the party would provide a minimum of Rs 12 million in assistance, News Agency Nepal reported.

“Sometimes, when money is deposited into the government’s fund, it remains in the account while victims may not even receive the drinking water they urgently need. Our priority is not merely to strengthen the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund, but to ensure that relief reaches the victims as quickly as possible,” he said.

Oli also said that to make relief and rehabilitation efforts effective, the party would adopt whichever pathway ensures aid reaches the actual victims the fastest.
