Prime Minister (PM) Balendra Shah held discussions with members of parliament on Monday. The PM is engaging in talks with lawmakers from both the ruling and opposition parties. These collective discussions are being organized by the PM on a provincial basis.
Among those attending the meeting was Gyanendra Shahi, who also serves as the parliamentary party leader of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP). Speaking to journalists, Shahi stated that since the PM called for the discussion, he would raise issues concerning development and construction projects in the Karnali Province.
However, Shram Sanskriti Party Chairman Harka Sampang announced that he would not attend the meeting called by the PM. Taking to his social media page on Facebook, Sampang wrote, "I do not understand why the Prime Minister is calling for 'room meetings' instead of taking the initiative to summon a session of the House. We will not attend room meetings. A session of the House must be called. Meetings should be held at least once a week. One cannot run away from the people's questions; every question must be answered. Long live democracy!"
Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) MP Yagyamani Neupane mentioned that during the discussions, lawmakers informed the PM about the problems existing in their respective constituencies and provinces. "We presented the issues of our regions and provinces to the prime minister. He inquired about what the immediate problems are and what their solutions might be," he said. "The lawmakers focused their views specifically on those topics."
The PM initially began the consultations by holding discussions with lawmakers from Koshi Province.
