Janamat Party Chairman CK Raut has expressed concerns that the Gen Z movement is being exploited, fearing that the country could be trapped in a state of indecision and instability for another 10 years, potentially ceasing to exist.
In a Facebook post, he has said, "Dear Gen Z! There are some things you need to remember as you lead the country toward a solution. The country does not belong to just one Discord group or a specific class, caste, or community. Every decision you make must be inclusive and represent everyone from Mechi to Mahakali, the Himalayas to the Tarai-Madhes, Karnali, and Far West to Madhes and Lumbini, and from Khas Arya to Madhesi, Tharu, indigenous nationalities, Muslims, Dalits, women, and marginalized groups. It must address everyone's rights, self-respect, aspirations, and voices."
He has continued, "You have started a movement, but behind the scenes, many things are happening to misuse this opportunity. We are worried that the country might become a hostage to indecision and instability for another 10 years and that the country itself might not survive." He has also pointed that all important state institutions have been burned to ashes.
Raut has also stated that attempting to abolish the Constitution, which the entire population spent eight years creating, and dissolving House, the home of democratically elected representatives, would create a vacuum and illegitimacy. He believes this would set the stage for the country to be taken over by others through a puppet government.
"Therefore, in the current transitional situation, even though amendments are definitely needed, the Constitution should not be tampered with (it can be done after the election), and the House, which can make valid decisions until the next election, should not be dissolved. Otherwise, a vacuum will be created in the country," he has said.
He has stressed that the federal democratic republic, which was made possible after decades of struggle and sacrifice, must be protected in any situation. "No matter how much some individuals try to mislead, federalism, democracy, and a republic must be protected to save the country. If you dissolve the Constitution and House at someone's instigation, you will be bogged down in making a new Constitution for another 10 years, and a working environment will not be created," he has added.
Raut has described this as a "Pandora's Box" and suggested that an interim government should be formed, allowing the current Parliament to remain in place. He has said that even though they have resigned from it, they are still making this point. "We should focus on holding elections. If we can hold elections within six months, you will get a new House of Representatives, so let's not create a vacuum now," he has stressed.
He has also outlined a list of immediate actions to be taken:
Fully establish law and order: Ensure security for everyone across the country in an environment of instability, fear, and terror.
Form a National Task Force (NTF): Draft a plan where every family must provide a volunteer to be deployed for reconstruction, development, and good governance at a war-like pace from the national to the local level.
Form a tribunal: Investigate the loss of life and property, violence, and infiltration that occurred during the movement. Investigate past corruption and nationalize all corruptly acquired assets. Set a fixed date, and after that, implement a "zero tolerance" policy for corruption.
Convene a meeting of the global community, donor agencies, and multilateral organizations: Appeal for support and cooperation for development and reconstruction. The state should take responsibility to restore lost trust and ensure that everyone's investments are safe to attract more investment.
Start reconstruction and development work: Deploy the task force and volunteers on a war footing.
Focus on industry and employment: Strive to eliminate unemployment.
(Possibly) Nationalize all property for 10 years: (Do not worry, this would be like citizens leasing their land and homes to the state and giving money as an internal loan, to be returned after 10 years.) During this period, the state would take full guardianship of its citizens. Citizens would not have to worry about how to get food, what to wear, how to educate their children, or how to get medical treatment, allowing them to fully dedicate themselves to the country's development and construction.
