The committee formed to investigate errors in the cooling-off period provision in the Federal Civil Service Bill has submitted its report to Speaker Devraj Ghimire.
Nepali Congress lawmaker Jeevan Pariyar, the committee’s chairman, handed over the 101-page report to Speaker Ghimire during an event held on Tuesday afternoon at the Federal Parliament building premises in New Baneshwar, Kathmandu.
Pariyar said that the report, prepared unanimously, was submitted to Speaker Ghimire.
"We have meticulously identified errors within the committee's scope and prepared the report unanimously, holding individuals from relevant sectors accountable," he said. "However, it is disheartening to hear about various claims in some media outlets and elsewhere, including instances of character assassination."
The committee was formed to investigate after discrepancies were found in the cooling-off period provision, which bars civil servants from taking up constitutional appointments for two years after resignation or retirement, when the bill was passed by the House of Representatives.
