The government has decided to declare a public holiday on September 8.
A Cabinet meeting held on Thursday decided to declare a public holiday on the occasion of Gen Z Martyrs’ Day.
Announcing the Cabinet’s decisions, government spokesperson Sasmit Pokharel said that a nationwide public holiday would be observed on September 8 to commemorate Gen Z Martyrs’ Day.
The Gen Z movement took place on September 8 and 9 last year. Forty-five people who died during the movement were declared martyrs by the government.
