The ruling CPN has decided to hand over responsibility of registering the party with the Election Commission (EC) for by-election to General Secretary Bishnu Paudel.
Speaking after the secretariat meeting on Wednesday, CPN Spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha said Paudel has been asked to register the party for by-election scheduled for November 30.
The party will have to be registered at the EC for by-election as it was not registered in the last election when the then CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Center) had contested as separate parties.
The secretariat meeting that used to be held at the ground floor of the prime minister's (PM) official residence in Baluwatar earlier was held in the first floor Wednesday probably due to poor health of PM KP Sharma Oli
Oli had health check-up at the Manmohan Cardiothoracic Vascular and Transplant Center inside the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) premises earlier on Wednesday. The catheter placed in Oli's body for plasmapheresis in Singapore has been removed at Manmohan, according to a Baluwatar source.
Secretariat member Bam Dev Gautam was also not present in the meeting after suffering from viral fever.
