The 28th Central Council of Nepal Workers and Peasants Party (NWPP) has concluded endorsing the national and international proposals.
The Council meeting was held on January 9, 10 and 11 in Bhaktapur and chaired by party chairman Narayan Man Bijukchhe.
The national proposal passed by the Council has protested the government's decision of increasing the price of petroleum products, of not rehabilitating the earthquake survivors, of providing the rivers of Nepal to Indian monopoly capital and of not adopting precaution about the cold wave that occurs annually.
Likewise, the national proposal calls for dismantling the dams and embankments constructed on the border with Nepal by the 'Indian expansionists'.
Similarly, the international proposal passed by the Council has taken exception to what it calls America's interference in the internal affairs of Iran, the economic sanctions imposed by America on Cuba and Democratic People's Republic of Korea, and the 'American imperialism' declaring Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
The Council has decided to celebrate the party's 44th founding day (January 24) by organizing discussions and seminar, studying the party's history and activities and publishing these. Similarly, the Council has decided to mark the bicentenary of Karl Marx on May 5, 2018, by studying and publishing the history and geography of Europe, the biographies of Marx and Engels, the Communist Manifesto, the Das Capital and other Marxist literature, throughout the year.
The Council has nominated Mohan Prasad Prajapati and Rajbir Dangol to the party central committee member. It has nominated Surendra Raj Gosain, Seijana Sayaju and Rajendra Chawal as the alternative central members.
The Council has passed the proposal of the central committee presented by party secretary Prem Suwal with suggestions, the NWPP stated in a press release today.
In his statement in the Council meeting, Bijukchhe said that Marxism-Leninism has ascended as the capitalism could not protect the interest of the people and the country, pointing out the need to educate the new generation with the principles of Marxism and Leninism.
He stated that those parties that ran the government in the country from time to time but did not work for the people and the country had violated the election code of conduct, thus the people's votes have been wasted.
