Sister organizations and well-wisher organization of the Nepali Congress (NC) have demanded immediate issue of an ordinance related to the formation of National Assembly.
Organising a press conference here Monday, the organizations expressed sadness, saying the ordinance sent by the incumbent government at the office of the President two months ago has not been issued yet.
On the occasion, President of Nepal Women Association Uma Regmi said that holding the elections of House of Representatives and Provincial Assemblies as well as National Assembly is the responsibility of the incumbent government, adding there is a mandatory provision in the constitution that there should be 33 percent representation of women adding House of Representatives and National Assembly.
A press release issue distributed in the program stated that it was sad to lingering the ordinance since two months in the pretext of consultation even after a clear provision in the constitution that following and protecting the constitution is the responsibility of the President and the role of the President is only a rubber-stamp.
NWA President Regmi, President of Nepal Tarun Dal Jit Jung Basnet, President of Nepal Students Union Nain Singh Mahar, President of Nepal Press Union Badri Sigdel, President of Democratic Lawyers Association Bharat Prasad Kharel and Acting President of Nepal Dalit Association Shambhu Hajara Paswan, warned of launching protest program if the ordinance is not issued immediately.
