Three out of the two killed in the bomb explosion inside the salon in Sukedhara on Sunday were in the military wing of CPN led by Netra Bikram Chand.
Dipendra Bishwokarma of Kalikot and Gopal Thapa Magar of Dang both were in the military units of the party.
The Metropolitan Police Range Kathmandu says Thapa Magar is the chief of the central military command of the party. Thapa Magar is a former Maoist combatant with Mahabir as the nom de guerre. He may have come to Kathmandu after the series of arrest of Maoist leaders in the capital, according to the police.
SSP Uttam Raj Subedi said Bishwokarma was the party's district member in Kalikot and area incharge of the military wing there.
The third victim in Sukedhara blast Krishna Bhandari (Nirantar) of Baglung was member of the party's Kathmandu unit.
The three were all experts in military exercises. The accidental explosion occurred when trying to set am/pm in the time device on the assembled bombs, according to the preliminary police estimates. "We believe the bomb went off as they accidentally set pm while trying to set am on the clock," Subedi said.
Chand had issued a statement on Monday revealing that Thapa Magar and Bishwokarma were in the military wing.
Briefing the parliament about the series of explosions on Monday, Home Minister Ram Bahadr Thapa said Chand's party had four companies of combatants.
