Seven people who died in a microbus accident in Gorkha have been identified.
Inspector Rajan Lamsal of the District Police Office, Gorkha, said that all seven deceased were Indian nationals.
According to him, the victims were identified as 58-year-old Mutukumar, 58-year-old Anam Lik, 59-year-old Meenakshi, 53-year-old Sivagami, 57-year-old Bijayal, 58-year-old Meena, and 60-year-old Tamilarashi, all residents of India.
There were 16 people (11 women and 5 men) on board the vehicle, including the driver and co-driver. Apart from the driver and co-driver, all passengers were Indian nationals.
The vehicle carrying the passengers met with the accident on Saturday evening while returning after visiting Manakamana Temple.
The microbus involved in the accident had the registration number Bagmati Province 1-006 Kh 8430.
Nine injured passengers are currently receiving treatment at Purano Medical College in Chitwan, and their condition is reported to be critical.
Among the injured are the driver, 46-year-old Pushpa Malla Thakuri from Sundarbazar Municipality-1 in Lamjung, and co-driver 29-year-old Santosh Gurung from Besishahar Municipality-3 in Lamjung.
Other injured passengers, all Indian nationals, include 62-year-old Soranam, 65-year-old Mangada Jalam, 75-year-old Subhadra, 65-year-old Mayal, 73-year-old Saroja, 65-year-old Bhagyalakshmi, and 34-year-old Meenakshi.
