Police have completed their investigation into the misappropriation of funds at the Parsa-based Sano Paila Savings and Credit Cooperative and submitted a report to the District Government Attorney’s Office (DGAO), Parsa.
Superintendent of Police Gautam Mishra said that the District Police Office, Parsa, completed the investigation and handed over its report to the DGAO on Friday.
The police concluded their investigation into allegations of fraud and organized crime at Sano Paila Cooperative.
“We have completed the investigation and submitted the report,” Mishra said, adding that the police have recommended prosecuting 30 individuals and 11 institutions/companies.
The defendants include Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane and former deputy inspector general of police Chhabi Lal Joshi.
The police have demanded a total of Rs 2.3 billion in damages from the accused.
They have demanded recovery of Rs 57.43 million from Lamichhane, and Rs 32.43 million from Joshi.
Similarly, the police have sought Rs 108.15 million from GB Rai, who is a fugitive in cooperative fraud cases, and Rs 155.35 million from Kumar Ramtel in damages.
Lamichhane, Joshi, and Ramtel are in custody for investigation.
