Nakkhu jail to be upgraded

The capacity of Nakkhu Jail is going to be expanded. The jail which has the capacity to accommodate 500 inmates is going to be upgraded with a capacity to accommodate 1,000 inmates. Out of two blocks -- male and female blocks--with a capacity of accommodating 250 people each, the male block has already been brought into operation while the female block is under construction, said Jailer Tek Bahadur KC. KC said that the construction company made delayed the construction of the female block, adding the block would be brought into operation in mid- July. Meanwhile, the reconstruction of the Community Rehabilitation Center and the Drug Rehabilitation Center at the jail was underway as the Gorkha earthquake had damaged these blocks.
