Nepali Congress central member Ramhari Khatiwada has announced his candidacy for the position of joint general secretary.
Candidacy registration for the 15th general convention is scheduled for Tuesday.
Khatiwada said that he will contest for the post of joint general secretary.
In the Nepali Congress, there is a provision for 11 joint general secretaries to be elected from various clusters.
Khatiwada has declared his candidacy for the joint general secretary position under the open category.
He is a former lawmaker and former chairperson of the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee. He has been a general convention representative since 1991.
