Prime Minister Balendra Shah left early Thursday morning for an on-site inspection of the flood-affected area of Bidur in Nuwakot.
He is accompanied by Minister for Infrastructure Development Sunil Lamsal.
The two departed by road at 9:30 a.m. for Bidur, one of the main areas affected by the flooding.
Floodwaters that came through the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa on Wednesday caused damage to riverside areas. PM Shah had earlier directed authorities to make rescue and relief efforts more effective.
Immediately after the flood, he convened high-level meetings and gave necessary instructions to subordinate bodies for rescue and relief operations.
Although many locations have suffered damage because of the flood, the prime minister will primarily inspect Bidur and nearby affected settlements in Nuwakot on Thursday.
During the visit, PM Shah, Infrastructure Minister Lamsal, and their team will directly assess the physical damage caused by the flood and hold discussions with local authorities, security agencies, and elected representatives on relief efforts, rehabilitation, and the restoration of disrupted infrastructure.
They are also scheduled to issue necessary instructions to ensure the rapid delivery of relief to all affected areas and accelerate infrastructure reconstruction.
