The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has corrected its list of elected central committee members.
According to the corrected list, Dhruba Kumar Thapa Magar has been elected under the indigenous (Janajati) cluster, and Puja Bastola has been elected under the provincial (geographical) category.
Magar and Bastola had filed complaints with the party's election commission, stating that individuals who received fewer votes than them had been declared winners.
Following these complaints, the party's election commission corrected the errors during its meeting on June 26.
With the election of Magar and Bastola, the previously declared winners, Krishna Man Shrestha and Som Sharma, have lost their positions.
"In accordance with the General Convention Election Procedures 2026, although Krishna Man Shrestha was previously declared elected under the indigenous cluster, a review of the vote counts and documents and evidence submitted during candidacy registration revealed that Dhruba Kumar Thapa Magar was the actual winner. Therefore, it was decided to declare Dhruba Kumar Thapa Magar as elected," the commission stated in its decision. "Similarly, in the provincial (geographical) voting, Puja Bastola should have been elected for the Gandaki province seat, but Som Sharma was erroneously declared instead. After reviewing the vote results, it was decided to declare Puja Bastola as the winner under the Gandaki province (geographical) category."
The party held elections for 99 central committee positions during its general convention, which concluded last Friday. A total of 384 candidates had contested the election, and the vote counts for all 384 individuals were made public.
Initially, the 99 candidates with the highest votes were declared winners. However, Magar and Bastola filed complaints claiming that people with fewer votes than them had been declared central members.
