Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal has formed a committee to investigate the incidents that occurred in the House of Representatives on Sunday.
The speaker formed the committee citing "indecent and objectionable behavior" displayed by some lawmakers during the obstruction of the House.
The committee is headed by Secretary Prakash Adhikari, with the chief of the Federal Parliament’s Internal Services and Planning Management Division and the chief of the Technology Management Division as members.
"Regarding the incidents in the House of Representatives meeting on May 31, 2026, where some honorable members created disorder, displayed indecent and objectionable behavior, and caused physical damage, I have received detailed information as per Rule 33 (4) of the House of Representatives Regulations, 2026. A formal record has already been prepared today regarding the matter,” Speaker Aryal said. “Therefore, I inform you that I have formed a committee under the coordination of Secretary Prakash Adhikari, with the heads of the Internal Services and Planning Management Division and the Technology Management Division of the Federal Parliament as members, to conduct further investigation into the matter and submit a report to the speaker within seven days."
He added that disciplinary action would be taken based on the committee’s report.
Speaker Aryal has also adjourned the House of Representatives meeting until 1 p.m. on Tuesday.
