Nepali Congress candidate Tek Bahadur Gurung has been elected to the House of Representatives from Manang.
According to the Office of the Chief Election Officer in Manang, Gurung secured 2,415 votes, while his closest rival, Yashoda Subedi Gurung of the Nepali Communist Party, obtained 454 votes.
Meanwhile, Ram Bahadur Ghale of the Mongol National Party received only 9 votes.
Out of a total of 7,000 registered voters in Manang, 3,923 cast their votes in the election held on Thursday.
According to Ram Prasad Paudel, chief election officer of Manang, 45 votes were invalid.
NC candidate Gurung was supported by the CPN-UML in the Himalayan district, while the Rastriya Swatantra Party did not field a candidate.
Paudel said that although the vote counting has been completed, the results are yet to be formally announced.
