The Nepali Congress (NC), CPN-UML, and Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal have decided to field candidates for the National Assembly election through an electoral alliance.
The nomination registration process is taking place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday.
While initial discussions for a broader alliance also included the Nepali Communist Party (NCP), the NCP exited the coalition at the last moment.
Following its exit, the NC, UML, and JSP Nepal reached a new agreement to take 9, 8, and 1 seat, respectively.
The three parties have finalized their candidates.
According to the list finalized by the NC, Sunil Bahadur Thapa will be the candidate from Koshi province, while Dharmendra Paswan and Ranjit Karn will be the party’s candidates from Madhesh province.
Geeta Devkota will be the candidate from Bagmati province, and Jagat Timilsina from Gandaki province.
The party will field Basudev Jangali and Chandra Bahadur KC from Lumbini province, Lalit Jung Shahi from Karnali province, and Khamma Bahadur Khati from Sudur Paschim province.
From the UML, Roshani Meche and Somnath Portel will be the candidates from Koshi, while the remaining provinces will have one candidate each.
Rekha Jha will be the candidate from Madhesh, Prem Dangal from Bagmati, and Samjhana Devkota from Gandaki.
Ram Kumari Jhakri will be the UML candidate from Lumbini, Meena Rakhal from Karnali, and Leela Bhandari from Sudur Paschim.
Meanwhile, the JSP Nepal has finalized Mahantha Thakur as its sole candidate.
