Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah and 25 others from his team have been nominated to the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP).
A meeting of the RSP central committee held at the party office on Sunday nominated the 26 individuals as central members.
The newly-nominated central members also took the oath of office. RSP President Rabi Lamichhane administered the oath to them.
Among the nominees, Balen Shah has been appointed as a senior leader ranked second after President Lamichhane, according to an RSP source.
Sunil Lamsal has been given the role of general secretary, while Bhupadev Shah, Sasmit Pokharel, and Sagar Dhakal have been made secretariat members.
The other members from Shah’s team include Laxman Tharu, Ramesh Paudel, Khagendra Sunar, Ganesh Paudel, Santosh Giri, Namita Yadav, Sarita Gyawali, Sushant Baidya, Laxmi Bardewa, Shiva Yadav, Rohan Karki, Madhusudan Dhakal, Ananta Raj Timilsina, Ram Kumar Dhungana, Pradeep Gyawali, James Karki, Ojaswi Thapa, KP Khanal, Aditya Acharya, Pradeep Pandey, and Khemraj Saud.
